02 / About the artist
About Katherine.
Katherine Ortiz is a contemporary surrealist artist based in Redding, California, working primarily in soft pastel.
Her paintings bring together unexpected imagery, familiar objects, and dreamlike environments, exploring the space between everyday reality and the mysteries of the subconscious.
Her creative process is intuitive and spiritually grounded. Often beginning with an image that arrives unexpectedly, she follows its development with curiosity, leaving room for humor, ambiguity, and discovery.
